USA-made Leopard Shark Leaders come complete with Rig Sliders and Beads for an easy-to-use setup for targeting Surf Sharks and Rays from Beach, Pier, Jetty, Boat or Drone in California and on the West Coast.

Made from high-quality Cox & Rawle 10/0 Mutsu Circle Hooks, 130LB coated wire and 300LB stainless steel swivels, each leader is tied and crimped to a professional guide's specifications.

The addition of the Beads and Rig Sliders make it a ready-to-go option: just thread on a bead, the slider with a sinker (not included), then the second bead, and tie the Leopard Shark Leader to your mono or fluorocarbon line.

2025 Leopard Shark Leader specifications:

  • Double 10/0 Cox & Rawle Mutsu Circle Hooks for maximum hook-ups and easy unhooking
  • 130LB Wire Leader
  • 300LB Stainless Steel Swivel
  • Low-resistance, big-bore Rig Slider and clip for sinker
  • Rig Beads (two) for buffering slider against swivel and leader knots
  • Team this rig up with one of our 4–8oz Sputnik Surf Sinkers and Heavy Red Bait Elastic

This is an easy-to-use general surf shark fishing on the West Coast and it'll catch any of the species commonly targeted including Leopard Sharks, Soupfin Sharks, Smoothhound Sharks, Bat Rays, Butterfly Rays and similar predatory species.

For surf fishing for West Coast sharks and rays, we recommend using fresh mackerel, surf perch, croaker, bonito, large sardines, and double or triple squid baits. We strongly recommend the use of Heavy bait elastic to secure the bait to this rig.

Tied to our professional guide's specifications, the rigs are a great option for anyone looking for an easy option to catch predators from the beach, pier, jetty, boat or drone.

Simply tie the Leader to your mono or fluorocarbon casting / abrasion leader – we highly recommend using at least 5–12ft of 80–100LB mono rubbing / abrasion / casting leader when shark fishing with this rig – using a Palomar Knot, clip on a Spuntik Surf Sinker to the Rig Slider, attach your bait with Heavy Red bait elastic, and cast out, slide on a Non-Return Slider, drop off pier, or deploy by drone.
